outh Devon features many historic market towns surrounded by coasts and countryside. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing break or action packed adventure, south Devon is full of activities keeping the children entertained whatever the weather. Go wild at the zoo, paint pottery, ride a rollercoaster or have a great family Day Out at a theme park or another attraction, there are plenty from which to choose. the beaches are also great for crabbing. Many of the beaches have awards for water and beach quality, and a great swathe of the coastline is under the protection of an AONB, or the National Trust.
For the walking enthusiasts a stretch of the South West Coastal Path goes from the Exe Estuary to Wembury, walk along any section to appreciate its full glory. A wander down green lanes offers a wonderful way to discover the rich countryside and scattering of villages and hamlets that make up South Devon.
Those looking for a more relaxing break south Devon boasts an array of local arts and crafts to capture your imagination, as well as the opportunity to wander around historic buildings, museums and award winning gardens. The historic market towns offer the opportunity to browse local food, drink and markets.
