Tolcarne Beach, Newquay
Newquay is blessed with a fantastic coastline and an array of stunning beaches. Some are great for walking, some for surfing, others for making sandcastles, and some for kite surfing, body boarding, wave skiing, kitebuggying, paddle surfing, coasteering and mountain boarding. Surfing is the king but there is a beach for everyone’s taste in this fabulous resort. Newquay is geared to ensuring that everyone has a fantastic time, but safety is of paramount importance so, when on the beaches, make sure you listen to any instructions given by the lifeguards. It is also important to recognise and understand the three commonly seen flags. Ask the Lifeguards if you are not sure what the flags mean. For details of surfing instructions go to www.dayoursouthwest.

If the beach is not for you grab a fishing rod and try your hand at landing the next ‘jaws’ , or don a wetsuit and dive beneath the waves to glimpse an age old shipwreck or reef teeming with plant and animal life. If so, you may want to head to the harbour, one of Newquay’s best kept secrets and the hub of all maritime activity where a plethora of boats are waiting to take you out.
