Gurkha Festival of Music Nye Hall, Duke of York's Royal Military School, Dover April 7 - 9


The world famous Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, under the direction of Major Vernon Yates, presents its 12th annual Festival of Music. The band will be joined by The Fanfare Team and Corps of Drums of The Band of The Royal Engineers, and a guest vocalist. There will be surprises and a fantastic finale. Concert starts at 7.30pm. Fit As A Fiddle – free dancing for the over-50s Stour Centre, Ashford April 7 – May 26


An introduction to a wide range of wonderful dance styles from 17th century Playford Dances to 21st century ceilidh dances, including American contra dance, English barn dance, and the polka! Hertitage Transport Show and Auction Kent County Showground, Detling April 9


The event will be a tribute to Maidstone & District Motor Services to celebrate its 100-year anniversary. Large numbers of buses with full livery will take over part of the showground, and visitors will be able to take a ride on one of the vintage vehicles. There will also be an opportunity for former employees and enthusiasts to get together to celebrate this

Spring into Easter Leeds Castle, Nr Maidstone April 22 - 25

The Archaeology of Shorne Woods Country Park, April 16 - 17


As the Lottery funded phase of the Shorne Woods Archaeology Project comes to a close, finds from the first five years of the project will be on display, including medieval artefacts from Randall Manor, machinery from the clay works, objects from the RAF and army camps, historical documents, maps and aerial photographs of the park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No booking required for this free event. 10am - 4pm.
