Letters to the Editor Group has right to express opinions

Dear Editor, I am writing in response to Clint Parker’s article (“Break-

ing eggs to make an omelet” that appeared in the Vol. 9, No. 4 issue edition of the Tribune about the resignation of North Buncombe football coach Carey Metts. While I respect Clint’s opinion, his should not be the

only one printed in this newspaper. Tere are different opinions about the situation with

the football program at North Buncombe. But those comments don’t seem to get printed in this newspaper. Te people that have been called the parent group,

because they have an opinion that is not in favor of the former coach, they are deemed troublemakers.

Soccer signups Te ABYSA spring 2011 soccer signups are still open. Any child

aged 4-17 and interested can register and play. Te ABYSA has both boys’ and girls’ divisions. Teams hold practice within there local high school district. Te spring season runs March thru May. Online regis- tration can be done at abysa.org or by calling 299-7277, ext. 305.

4 THE TRIBUNE/LEADER - February 10 - February 16, 2011 Tese people called the parent group have given their

time, effort and more importantly, their money to help the kids and athletics at North Buncombe. I truly can’t say the same for most of the people who

have called the parent group ‘troublemakers.’ Like it or not, the parent group has been the core sup-

port of North Buncombe athletics in the past. Tey have earned their right to express their opinions. Sometimes, breaking some of those eggs means getting a new football coach.
