Erwin Hills Enchanted Florist celebrates 26 years of business
by Robin Wilson Janet and Emily Frye are a
mother-daughter team and co- owners of the Enchanted Florist located in Erwin Hills. Te duo celebrated the 26th anniversary of the shop in January. Janet started the flower shop in
her garage when Emily was just a baby. She wanted to have the flexibility of being there for her daughter as she grew up. Janet then moved into a retail location but after years of running a retail store, she decided to close and fo- cus on her passion of weddings and parties without the storefront. As Emily grew up in the business and wanted to pursue her interest, she and her mother opened the newest shop last August in Erwin Hills. Janet is accredited and certi-
fied with the American Institute of Floral Designers. Tis accom- plishment puts her as one of the top floral designers in the world. “Te AIFD is an extraordinary group of talented artists,” said Ja- net. She also taught professional floral design for 10 years and was a designer to celebrity clients in-
cluding Liberace, Lillian Disney, Mary Martin and others when she lived in California in the 1970s. Emily and Janet like to stay
current in the florist industry trends and attend and participate in symposiums, conferences and design seminars all throughout the year. “We know how to make an impression on our customers,” said Janet. Te Enchanted Florist offers unique, fresh and silk flow- er arrangements. Part of the Frye’s service is educating their custom- ers on how to maintain their fresh flowers. “I am looking forward to get-
ting to know the people in the community,” said Emily. Tey are currently members of the Erwin Booster Club and plan to be involved and part of the com- munity. When school started in August, Te Enchanted Florist of- fered free flowers to the teachers. For prom, the florist will have a corsage bar. Te Enchanted Florist is lo-
cated at 1 Lees Creek Road. Te store is open from 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to noon on Saturday. For more information, go to enchantedflo-
