nominated and voted their favorite teacher of the month as Bob Johnson. Johnson is the chorus teacher who has been at Erwin High school since 1987. “I love the students here and I hope
I can go on doing this job for many years,” said Johnson. Te music wing at Erwin High School was recently named the Bob Johnson Performing Arts Center for Buncombe County. Tis was voted on by the Buncombe County Board of Education. Two of his students, Brittany Rogers
and Katie Lunsford, both voiced their praises of Johnson. Donna Meadows was named the
employee of the month by the stu- dents. Meadows has been at Erwin High School since 2000. She started as the receptionist, then was the counsel- ing secretary and is currently secretary to Principal Dr. Jim Brown. “She is the most thorough and con-
scientious person that I’ve ever worked with. She is the center of the universe here. Everything that goes through this school she is aware of,” said Brown. “I wouldn’t want to work anywhere
else. I love these teenagers, they are the best anywhere around,” said Mead- ows.
