Mentor network for budding social entrepreneurs
A NETWORK of business professionals who can mentor budding social entrepreneurs has been launched by UnLtd Connect. The network will give individuals insights into how grass root solutions can meet social needs, create jobs and grow local economies. Ernst & Young
are working in partnership with UnLtd’s Connect programme,

1 Follow your interests. The people who enjoy Twitter most tend to follow a variety of accounts: friends, family, people in their profession, local shops and events, and most importantly, people who share their passions.
2 Get specifi c. Like sports? Follow your favorite leagues, teams, players, coaches, commentators, writers and fellow fans. Love food? Follow chefs, restaurants, critics, bloggers, specialty shops and respected foodies.
3 Don’t panic. People turn to Twitter during emergencies. Snowstorms, power outages and fi res are just a few emergencies where Twitter may be helpful. Search for #hashtags and follow local council accounts to stay informed.
4 Return to Twitter. There are about 200 million accounts on Twitter now - that means new interests, new voices, and new ideas. Twitter offers services in seven languages.

from six different offi ces are supporting individuals to develop their social venture and make a positive change to local communities. Tehseen Ali, a Senior Manager with
Ernst & Young’s Manchester offi ce is currently working with a local social entrepreneur, Jenny Nelson who runs the ethical retail outfi t ‘Wallets for Change’. Tehseen said: “I can use my own
experience and knowledge to help guide Jenny, who has a great idea but was unsure of which direction to take her enterprise.” Jenny said: “Having a mentor means that I can talk through my ideas in detail and confi dently make key decisions
on how to progress my social venture to the next stage.” Ernst & Young employees can choose
to get involved in particular areas of interest to provide practical support and advice to an entrepreneur.
