A South Holland District Council report has revealed the cost of plans to revamp Spalding’s Castle Sports Complex. According to the report, the estimated
cost of renovating the complex will come to £7.2m, rising to £10m once “design and client supervision” costs are considered. Councillors have now agreed to earmark
£20,000 to draw up a detailed business case for the scheme, with the proposed design having been guided by a survey carried out on behalf of the council by Leisure-net.

A new campaign – focusing on walking, cycling and camping – has been launched by the National Trust (NT) in a bid to get more people outdoors. Te scheme will see the trust promote
a number of activities available across its sites, with more than 1,000 summer events designed to help kids get closer to nature. Around 100 miles (161km) of new
community walking routes are to be created by the NT, which will focus on walking as its ‘main’ outdoors activity for 2011.

Property agent Cushman and Wakefield (CW) has acquired three new locations on behalf of low-cost fitness chain Te Gym. In December, the health club operator
confirmed plans to add up to 20 new sites to its portfolio during 2011 aſter securing a multi- million pound funding package. Te three latest locations that have been
secured by CW on behalf of Te Gym include a 1,858sq m (20,000sq ſt) site in Leeds and a 1,533sq m (16,500sq ſt) Bristol property. A 1,626sq m (17,500sq ſt) location in Kingston- upon-Tames will also be incorporated into Te Gym’s expanding UK portfolio of low- cost health clubs.
