Holy Cupid, Batman! ...(or would Green Hornet be more timely)? We’ve come to that gooey time of

year when that chubby little bugger comes floating around...hunting us poor sots and blithely shooting arrows as we innocently wonder through life, minding our business. All I have to say is keep your head down, wear a shield and maybe a helmet! On the other hand, there are definitely reasons to keep your head up this month. Love is in the air and

it’s something we all want and need. If you are single, remember that it isn’t a curse, just a state of being (see page 33). Don’t forget what they say: “if you can’t be alone, you won’t do well when you’re attached.” At any rate, it’s a perfect time to acknowledge how important your friends are. Who says that you can’t give cupcakes or chocolates to one of them (see page 72). We all need a little lift, to learn to “love” our life and most importantly share it with others. It’s shorter

than you think. Appreciate what you have—you don’t want to end up like Willy Loman! (see page 20) Life takes unpredictable turns! If you are in a relationship, this month is the time (although hopefully not the only time) to make sure

that your baby feels appreciated. For those of us who are single, it is flabbergasting to see how you miss caring for each other. Suck it up, it’s time to put forth that little extra effort. You entered into that relationship for a reason, dust it off and give it a little polish! To that end, maybe it’s time for a trip (see page 58) exotic or simple . . . Need a little lift? Take in the new musical Little Miss Sunshine (see page 24) it opens at the LaJolla Playhouse this month. Your heart is made of stone if it doesn’t make you lean a little closer to your love bug. Plenty of suggestions between these covers; there’s no excuse for not stepping up to the plate...as the ever fabulous supermodel RuPaul says, “F*CK THAT SH*T” (see page 38)!
