square foot facility with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains. Te library opened in 2001 and was the last new branch to open in the county. Tey have approximately 20,000 books plus books on CD, movie DVDs, large print books, music CDs, magazines, and a sec- tion of books and pictures about the history of Leicester. Tere are two full-time and three


part-time employees. Te library is funded by the county but relies on the Leicester Friends of the Library for many of the special programs


they offer. “We are having a children’s orna-


ment-making workshop on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11 am. Tis is the third year for this particular workshop and it’s free to the public. Te Friends of the Library will provide the craft mate- rials and refreshments,” said librar- ian Mary McClean. Anyone interested in volunteering


can meet with the group at 4 pm on the first Tursday of the month at the library. Programs for children and adults


are year round. Tere is the Mother Goose Time at 11:30 am every Tues- day morning geared for infants up to 18 months of age. Te program


features rhythm, rhymes, stories and songs to promote language develop- ment and love of books. At 10:30 am on Wednesday morn-


ings, there is the Preschool Story Time with stories, songs and finger plays followed by crafts. Adult programs are offered in the


evenings. Check with the library about upcoming workshops. Te library is located at 1561 Al-
