On October 9, 2010 the Weaverville Police Department started its eighth annual “Cops for Kids” Toy Drive. The Toy Drive benefi ts local children in the Weaverville and North Buncombe area. The toy drive has already helped hundreds of families in the past few years by providing toys and clothing for children on Christmas.

Thank You!

As in years past, the toy drive was kicked off with our Cops for Kids Bike Run. This was a beautiful day and a great starting point for the toy drive. There were approxi- mately 240 motorcycles and 15 street rods in attendance and over 400 people there as well. The event raised $7,443 in cash and a trailer full of toys.

This event could not happen without the support of the whole community the bikers, car guys, sponsors and vol- unteers are what makes this event happened, and go as smoothly as it does. I will like to thank everyone who helped with those of them from the bottom of my heart. There will be a lots of happy children at Christmas this year because of all your help and support!

Don’t forget, this is just the start of the Toy Drive, please make sure to help out this year by donating new, unwrapped toys or monetary gifts at the Weaverville Po- lice Department to help some less fortunate local children this year. For further information, please contact we will police department at 828-645-5700.
