13 Tribal Elders, One Shared Vision

I

n 2004, 13 female tribal elders from around the globe shared a vision. They were told their Mother Earth was in agony and that they must come forward to heal her and all her inhabitants. They were told nothing will change until we change.

In the fall of that same year, the women traveled from Alaska,

North and South America, Africa and India to meet at the Tibet House US, in New York City, where they created the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. To share their alliance of global prayer, education and heal- ing, they decided to document their journey as they traveled together to the homeland of all 13 elders. Four years in the making and shot on location, the

award-winning film, For the Next 7 Generations, follows these intrepid women from the remote villages of the Ama- zon to the steps of the Vatican as they face a world in crisis, share their vision of healing, and call for change now—be- fore it’s too late. Narrated by Ashley Judd, For the Next 7 Generations

weaves a beautiful tapestry of tribal traditions and hope for the future.
