INDULGENCES outrageousby daisy torres

Okay, who roofied my drink? Did I black out? How can it possibly be Decem- ber already? This year has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating New Years and Valentine’s and now it’s December already. I guess

it’s true what they say about time flying when you’re having fun. So let’s look back at November. It was a great month, with many events to keep me and Ruby busy. The biggest event was on November 19 at The Center. The 2010 Mr. San Diego

Leather, Anthony Rollar, hosted an amazing Meatball Turkey Day Dinner. In addi- tion to the traditional turkey fare we are all familiar with, dinner included a delicious spaghetti with meatballs. The evening was a fundraiser for Mama’s Kitchen and along with dinner, guests were treated to a show that spotlighted some of the amazing and talented folks in our community. I consider myself fortunate to be one of the people asked to perform that eve-

ning. It was wonderful to be able to contribute to such a wonderful event. I was joined on stage by my back-up dancers, Bryant and Phill, from House. Boi. As any diva will tell you…nothing makes a girl look better than a pair of great accessories. The following week was Thanksgiving day and I spent that with my family. I’m STILL stuffed from all the food we ate. As I’m sure my Latino brothers and sisters can attest, nobody’s cooking compares to our mom’s. Thanksgiving dinner is a breeze for our mom’s because they’re used to cooking huge quantities of food everyday.

Needless to say, I was stuffed, but I had committed to visiting various friends ADVENTURES DAISY AND RUBY’S

for the holiday as well, so after dinner with the family, I proceeded to compound a felony and made the rounds, putting mileage on my car, and inches on my waist- line. I don’t regret any of it though. Somebody get me a Lap-Band for Christmas? Now, that December is here, it’s time to get in the holiday spirit and into our holiday outfits. It’s the time of year we feel obligated to go to office parties and family

get togethers. Sometimes that is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Fortunately, there are plenty of FUN events this month to keep you entertained. The fun kicks off right away with the men of Thunder from Down Under, the hot, sexy

Australian troop will be performing at the Dream Catcher at Viejas on December 3 and 4. A quick google search and you will see that this is a show that you don’t want to miss. I’m going to take my Fruit Fly with me as her early Christmas gift. Go to viejasen-

tertainment.com for tickets and other information. Next up is a musical concert as the Gay Men’s Chorus presents “Tinseltown

Holiday” December 11 and 12 at the Birch North Park Theatre. A few days later, I hope to see everyone at the Out at Cygnet event on Decem- ber 15, for the showing of It’s a Wonderful Life. For the price of admission you get to enjoy some complimentary food and drinks before the show. What a great deal.

Make plans to see this holiday classic in Old Town. Go to cygnettheatre.com for tickets and more information. At the end of the month, after spending the holidays with family and friends

unwrapping presents, (by the way, if you’re wondering what to get me I love H & M, Charlotte Russe, and Forever 21) it will be time to start planning for New Year’s Eve. My recommendation for ringing in the New Year is to attend the Bill Hardt Productions party at Spin nightclub. Hardt obviously knows how to plan a big event, so this is where I plan

to say goodbye to 2010 and welcome 2011. Check out billhardtpresents.com for more details. Well another month (year?) has come and gone, so

it’s time to say so long and farewell. Have a happy holi- day season and please celebrate the New Year safely. I’ll see you in 2011.
