THAT HOLIDAY GLOW
As Christmas Day harkens to all of us in 2010, The Rage Monthly offers the free gift of entertainment to all of our
readers. It is the hope, that in between work, shopping, holiday decorating and the festive seasonal parties, you will take a much-deserved break and relax, reading the content in our publication. For December, our issue is as packed as Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve with seasonal offerings and star wattage in all of our spotlights. Grab a comfy chair and escape into this winter wonderland of interviews. Have you seen the musical film, Burlesque yet? Don’t let some of the jaded critics steal your thunder, as around the office here, for those of us who saw the film, it was a truly enjoyable two hours of cinematic magic. The film brings back a much-endangered genre…the movie musical. Boy, do we need it now! I had the distinct privilege of interviewing Cher, Christina Aguilera and Stanley Tucci in November. The brief time I spent in-person with the stars is something I will truly never forget. All I can say is…Cher! You look good! Christina is stunning and one smart cookie and Stanley is so witty and such an amazing actor. Their candid opinions on the film, acting with each other and their star power are explored on page 48. Speaking of star power, in all aspects, is none other than Annie Lennox. She likes to do the unexpected and
when she does, the results are always outstanding. Such is the case with her first-ever Christmas album aptly titled A Christmas Cornucopia. She goes into her personal history to re-invent songs that are all close to her heart during this time of year. The results are captivating and her inventiveness in the material chosen creates a timeless holiday spirit of a religious and joyous note for this Christmas. Our interview with the musical icon is on page 36. Another music offering for the holiday is the musical trio of Wilson Phillips. “Re-united and it feels so good”… and sounds so good, on their CD called Christmas In Harmony. Chynna Phillips, Carnie and Wendy Wilson bring forth a fun and classic selection of songs and the jubilation they experienced performing together is truly out in full force. Chynna Phillips shares the joy of creating the CD, her truthful and personal take on why she believes, “Jesus is the reason for the season” and a few Christmas memories on page 52. Now, if you ever thought, “truth is stranger than fiction,” look no further than the new film out this month called,
I Love You, Phillip Morris. Starring Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor and Rodrigo Santoro…this love story of a gay con man and his life in and out of jail is an extremely riveting, comedic and touching film experience. Rodrigo Santoro spoke with The Rage Monthly about his role in the film, working with the amazingly versatile actor, Jim Carrey, and playing the very first gay character in his career on page 54. The film is a must-see as all involved bring great care into bringing this true-life tale onto the screen. As we all countdown to Christmas and welcome the New Year, I have decided, as Mame sings, to “Open a new window…open a new door, travel a new highway that’s never been tried before.” I wish The Rage Monthly magazine much deserved and continued success. In the three years and five months of my time as Editor, it has been a growing experience I will never forget. May your holidays be filled with happiness and good health. Merry Christmas and the best wishes for the New Year!
