The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is called the Centre for Early Learning or CEL. This is an open plan, partially-integrated provision for nursery and reception-aged children. Older and younger children learn together or sometimes separately according to the area of learning.
The Centre is staffed by nursery teachers, nursery nurses and bilingual assistants and lead by our EYFS Leader.
The nursery children are assigned a key worker group. The key worker will take care of the youngest children on a day-to-day basis and be the contact person between home and the nursery. Reception children will be admitted to either of the reception classes and the class teacher will communicate with families.
All children new to our nursery or reception will be either visited at home before they join us and/or invited into our setting a number of times for introduction visits to get to know the environment and where possible their future key worker/ teacher. For more information on our settling-in policies please ask for our Early Years’ booklet.
