The Hamner Theater is a resident theater company in Nelson County, Virginia, located in the Rockfi sh Valley Community Center. The theater is dedicated to one of Nelson County’s most famous residents, Earl Hamner, Jr., to express our thanks for the contribution he has made to the county in telling the timeless story of his family’s life during the Depression. Our mission is to create original productions, to foster playwrights and screenwriters in their work of developing new scripts, to offer a performing arts venue that can be used by Nelson County organizations, and to create a theater open and reaching out to all residents of Nelson County and its surroundings.
