Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville works to create simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families, volunteers and the communities of greater Charlottesville. Founded in 1991 as an affi liate of Habitat for Humanity International, we have built more than 90 homes in the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Buckingham, Greene and Louisa counties.
Habitat is addressing our community’s greatest housing challenge: lack of affordable homes. Contact us to learn about our exciting plans to transform local trailer parks into attractive, mixed-income neighborhoods.

this is as big as the logo can be. it’s on the small side... what do you think?
This non-religious, nonprofi t, public charity is constantly weaving a stronger safety net for patients and families at the UVA Medical Center in need of temporary assistance with lodging, food, travel, and co-pays.
IHS began with a simple objective: NO MORE children sleeping in cars with their hungry family as a loved one lingers in critical condition inside THIS hospital.
IHS is the rapid response charity when a social worker calls!

IRC: FROM HARM TO HOME
Refugees, forced to fl ee their homeland due to violent confl ict or persecution, leave behind friends, family, homes and careers in search of a safe and secure environment to rebuild their lives. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) works with these families from their fi rst arrival in the U.S. through the process of adaptation to their new home. IRC supports refugees through resettlement services, employment assistance, and education programs. IRC encourages economic suffi ciency and social integration into the community and is committed to providing refugees with the tools needed to succeed as new Americans.

JABA’s mission is to help local elders feel secure about the place in which they live, whether that’s their family home of many years, an apartment they know they can afford, or an assisted living community dedicated to their comfort and care. We help families gain access to at-home services— such as healthcare management and home delivered meals —while offering assistance with fi nancial literacy and Medicare decisions, even the creation of a will. We are dedicated to helping older adults age securely in place.
Jefferson Area CHIP is a home visiting program that partners with families to create a nurturing home environment and to promote the health and well-being of children in our community. We envision a vibrant community of families whose children are healthy, confi dent and ready for school. We serve children 0-6, teens, and pregnant women.
Every family receives home visits by nurses and family support workers, home safety assessments, development screenings for children, parenting education, assistance accessing quality health care, and referrals to community services.
