Mission statement: “Love INC mobilizes The Church to transform lives and communities, In the Name of Christ.” (by mobilizing people in churches to help people in need.)


In 2009, Love INC partnered with 78 churches and 52 community organizations such as agencies, schools, other nonprofi ts and faith-based organizations in order to provide services, resources and referrals. 1233 client referrals were made to churches and 1433 were made to agencies. Love INC has grown. In 2000, we received 635 calls for assistance. In 2009, we processed 4049 calls.


Madison House serves as the student volunteer center at the University of Virginia. We coordinate volunteers, develop leaders, build community partnerships, and promote lifelong volunteer service.


Imagine a public botanical garden in the middle of Charlottesville that offers garden landscapes, display gardens, wildfl ower meadows, educational and volunteer opportunities. Its accessibility and convenience connect it to the community by trails, walkways and parking areas. The McIntire Botanical Garden is a 501 (c) (3) whose mission is to create a public garden in McIntire Park that inspires and educates visitors through exploration and the enjoyment of plants and nature. A public/private partnership between the City of Charlottesville, the MBG and others can make it happen!

Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious lunchtime meals Monday through Friday to residents of the Charlottesville/Albemarle area on a temporary or long-term basis. We serve any resident who is unable to prepare nutritious meals and who has no one to help them with meal preparation. Our goal is to provide not only appetizing nutritious food, but also daily social contact to people who are hungry and alone.
