RMF Trustees approve free CDL drug testing benefit AAC NewsPoints

Board also to fund scanning, codification of county ordinances

Member counties which

participate in the AAC-Risk Management Fund automo- bile program will now receive free CDL drug testing for their employees, thanks to action by the Board of Trustees at their Sept. 1 meeting. “We are very pleased to announce this enhanced ser- vice,” said Chris Villines, AAC Executive Director. “In these times when we are all watch- ing our dimes and dollars, we know this will be helpful to our RMF members.” Te drug screening will

be administered by National Medtest. Te board also approved an-

other member benefit: Help- ing member counties meet state requirements regarding “county code of ordinances”. A.C.A. 14-14-903(d) states that all county ordinances are required to be “compiled into a uniform code and published” ... “at five-year intervals.” AAC has contracted with

Mark Wingfield to begin vis- iting the RMF member coun- ties soon to begin the process of scanning their county or- dinances, to be posted online as digital documents in 2011. Tose will be codified at some future date. For non-member counties,

AAC can secure those same services for a fee to cover the costs.

“I applaud the Risk Man- agement Fund board on both these decisions,” said Deb- bie Norman, RMF Manager. “Our members are fortunate to have a board that looks out

for their interests as aggres- sively as they do.” In other business, the Trust- ees heard a reassuring 2009 audit

report from Auditor

Ricky Keen. Te audit reveals a very solid trust that is in very healthy financial condition in spite of an otherwise sputter- ing national economy.

Te Trustees voted to reap- point Lafayette County Judge Frank Scroggins

to another

term; and Sheriff Marty Moss was voted in as a replacement for Mike Oglesby, former Polk County Sheriff. Ms. Norman reminded that

“Now is the time to contact us for a renewal quote.”

Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss was elect- ed in September to replace former Sheriff Oglesby of Polk County on the AAC Risk Management Trust board. Oglesby’s seat became vacant when he start- ed a new job in August as U.S. Marshal for the West- ern District. And in an unrelated announcement, Sheriff Moss was appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe in late September to serve on the Arkansas Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coordinating Council. He replaces Sheriff Bobby May.
