Polk County wishes Marshal Oglesby well, installs new sheriff

A retirement reception for Oglesby was held in the Polk County Courtroom, where many friends and family, co-work- ers, local officials, law en- forcement from throughout the state, and other support- ers gathered to honor and congratulate Oglesby. With the Sheriff’s po- sition being part of this November’s election, Jack Peeples was approved by the Polk County Quorum Court as interim Sheriff for the remainder of 2010. Te newly elected Sheriff from the upcoming general elec- tion will take office on Janu- ary 1, 2011.
