healthy mental state might contribute to healing the physical body. In June 2010 John wrote:
...my most recent PSA (prostate specific antigen) score has re- mained steady and below the level it was when I was first di- agnosed four years ago. That diagnosis, not surprisingly, accom- panied a range of other acute disease conditions: Overweight, hypertension, hypothyroidism, continuous diarrhea, skin ailments, high cholesterol, hay fever, itchy eye, and chronic exhaustion. Each of the above conditions is now completely healed.
The following is an interview I conducted with John:
Q: John, how would you say your personal thinking might have contributed to your diagnosis?
A: I was a macho kind of guy. I thought, "it'll be alright" and didn't take care of myself. At gut level (literally, bulging bigger by the month) I didn't grasp that I only had one body and that I was re- sponsible and accountable for its care and maintenance: for what I ingested, how I exercised and how I used the power of thought. But the wake up call came - my urologist presented the news with a warning that there was limited time to have the tumors cut, drugged, or burnt away; or that they would metastasize, most likely to my bones. "When this happens," she said, "you will die a slow painful death."
Q: Do you think that your understanding of how your mind works helped you through your healing process?
A: From my understanding of how the Three Principles work with- in all of us, I realized that my penchant for filling life with interest- ing but non-essential and energy sapping, emotionally challeng- ing activities was stressful and not conducive to deep restorative healing. I was falling short in supporting my body and mind with the much-needed energy that would eliminate the chronic condi- tion called cancer.
Q: How did your thinking change about how you were living your life before your diagnosis?
A: I realized how important it is to work in harmony with our natural ability to create our life experiences through thought. Hu- mans have the free will to think anything. It’s easy to succumb to food and drinks that are unhealthy for us, as it is easy to suc- cumb to unhealthy thoughts that come to us. We don’t have to succumb; we can make healthier, wiser choices. Even if you are conscious of the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals you take in, what about the thoughts you feed your spirit? We are all born with innate health and the free will to access our health and well- being at any point in time. John is now making wiser choices and he attributes much of his wellness to his mental state of mind.
