In fact, it’s the same “mechanism” that allows people to maintain diets, maintain a healthy life- style, foster harmonious relationships, and have a change of heart. Because of a dis- covery in 1973, we know how to harness this “mechanism.” The basic premise of Three Principles
Psychology is that all human beings are connected to a Divine or Universal In- telligence, which describes the first prin- ciple, which is Mind. Thought produces our feelings, from our feelings come our reactions, our behaviors, and our overall experience of life. Consciousness allows us to experience our thoughts as a real- ity. In other words, our thoughts dictate our lives. When we understand what cre- ates our experience of life we can utilize our ability to create our experiences more wisely. These three principles explain the full range of the human experience. We have the free will to accept or dismiss our healthy or unhealthy, productive or non- productive thoughts, which in turn affects our outcomes.
A simple explanation of the principles:
Mind: The universal energy to create ex- perience.
Thought: The ability to create experience as a thinking individual.
Consciousness: The ability to be aware of our experience and of how we create it.
Taken together they explain how we
create form from formless energy, which in turn shows us how to access a deeper wisdom and thereby improve the results we get in life. The following true story illustrates
how understanding the workings of the mind helped someone with prostate can- cer. I met John in 1994. We were part of a group learning about three principles that explain how the mind works to give us a positive or negative experience every moment of our lives.
