Dr. Varhelyi founded the first Hungarian tourism knowledge center and in the 1990s created the first Central European tourism-related multimedia CD to promote Hortobagyi National Park as part of world heritage. Dr. Varhelyi has published six books and traveled to more than 100 countries. His cur- rent focus is on the collaboration between medical wellness and health care, having written on “traditional thermal tourism in Central Europe and new medical wellness trends.”
