TRY WALKING INMYSHOES

“…you’ll stumble in my footsteps.” Depeche Mode sure had a peculiar way of granting perspective to those of us staring too much at the greener

grass on the other side of the fence. But those Basildon boys had a point…only, you don’t have to stumble in anyone’s anything to realize it. August breathes new life into summer with many events of which we just can’t get enough—most notably, South

Bay Pride on Saturday, August 21. There are sure to be plenty of boys and girls dressed in black again, partaking in strange love. But hey, people are people. Okay, I’ll stop…Enjoy the silence. Seldom are new pop duos as surprising, both vocally and visually, as Nikki and Rich. This good-looking and

brilliant pair talks about the unique new album, Everything. The story on page 30 shows us there’s really not much that the combination of Rich’s flair and a musician and Nikki’s dynamic voice can’t do. Another force of nature that shows no signs of stopping: Reichen Lehmkuhl. His last name may be a challenge,

but he’s worth every twist of the tongue as he brings us up to speed on the roles of homosexuals in reality TV as well as in the armed forces. Turn to page 34 to read how he’d like to get busy with the President. Touted as the “Entertainer of the Year,” Saxophonist Dave Koz covers the depths of the classic art of jazz and tells us

it’s time for some change in our favor on page 44. Golden Globe winner, Las Vegas headliner and all-around-beauty Mitzi Gaynor has legs that were made for a

stage and a life of memories that most of us would die to remember. Thankfully, she now dishes up some good stuff on page 46. Contemporary musical acts can barely hold a candle to the gallant legend, but she likes them anyway. And finally, it is with great pleasure—and perspective—that The Rage Monthly presents our latest addition to

the A-List column lineup: Walter G. Meyer’s “Not Halfway Done.” Serving both as homage to Terry Ernest’s “Halfway There” chronicles as well as an evolved outlook on life’s prime years, Meyer takes us for a stroll in his sure-footed kicks and imparts both hope and humor on page 29.

Walk on and enjoy the remaining summer days. Celebrate South Bay Pride, be safe and take a moment to appreciate your time in the sun.
