Does Your Child Have Acne? B
eginning in August, Diane Kusunose, licensed bio- feedback therapist, and Charlene Handel, certified holistic esthetician, are teaming up to offer a one-hour program addressing the causes, effects and prevention of acne in children. The program is available by appoint- ment only, at Insights for Natural Balance, in Carlsbad. Acne can lead to unsightly scars, low self-esteem
and a lack of confidence that can last a lifetime. These two professionals have blended their expertise in this two-part acne program to help teens and their parents with this
common adolescent problem. First, Kusunose runs a non-invasive biofeedback assessment of each child to search for acne causes. Then, Handel discusses the basics of skin anatomy, acne information, nutrition for the skin, lifestyle choices, acne products and ways to avoid acne breakouts.
Location: 5825 Avenida Encinas, Ste. 107, Carlsbad 92008. For more information, call 760-420-0378, email

Green to Go Offers At-Home Parties
G
reen to Go, a local company that promotes trashless lunches for kids
and adults, is now offering at-home parties. Owner Lara Osborn says, “By hosting a Green to Go party, you’ll be promoting environmental awareness in your community and earning discounts and free products for you and your family. “Every school year, the average
child generates 67 pounds of lunch trash, including juice boxes, wrappers, and sandwich and paper bags,” accord- ing to Osborn. Green To Go offers an alternative to the typical lunch box with their line of completely trashless lunch kits, reusable sandwich baggies and other products to help both children and adults pack a zero-trash lunch.
To schedule a party, contact Osborn at
