An All-True Accidental Spiritual Adven- ture, has decided to reach out to book club readers by offering to attend book clubs interested in hosting her, in person, via Skype or by speakerphone. More book clubs are now choosing spiritual and other thought-provoking material as their subjects. Eat, Pray, Love, the movie based on the memoir of Elizabeth Gilbert, is set to open August 13, and the author is the first to acknowledge the large role that book clubs played in granting her book bestseller status for more than three years.
Jessica Maxwell Maxwell, described as “Lucille Ball trips over God,” has
won both the COVR Visionary and Nautilus awards for Best Spiritual Memoir of 2009. She says she was inspired by the feedback she received on her website and by interacting with readers at book signings and trade shows.
