A new automated irrigation facility will also be installed to water the tees, greens and fairways, the owners are also contemplating the installation of a bore hole so that they can be self sufficient in the supply of water for the course. However, this option will be subject to the prevailing Western Ireland weather. We hope to have a valve and head system fitted for the greens and fairways and a block system for the tees.

This August we installed slit drains along some of the fairways and drained them into piped mains and then, into our lakes. We have a complete new fleet of golf course machinery, and we have gone for a mix and match policy, ensuring we are able to choose the best kit for the job, rather than tying ourselves down to one single supplier.
The high rainfall attributed to this part of the country has determined the scope of works set out. One of our priorities has been to achieve free drainage through the surface of all playing areas, so that golf can be played in all conditions.
