The most important financial story of the next decade will be how women consolidate our century of economic gains to focus our financial clout placing our own “ownership” stamp on how businesses, services, and values are driven to create a better world for all.

The Transformation: Women are at an economic crossroads

Moving from the influenced to the influencers

Women are at an economic crossroads. We’ve reached a critical mass – a tipping point. It is time for us to consolidate our gains and push to the future.

As we focus our purchasing with women-owned firms causing women’s businesses to gain in size and employment, we learn how to stop reacting as targets and begin behaving as the influencers. The influential Harvard Business Review report, “The Female Economy,” takes the position that large corporations should invest more in positioning their firms to rake in money from women’s purchasing.

This positioning speaks of women as merely targets – not as market leaders.

Instead, the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce envisions women as market leaders – moving into much more senior and influential positions in the greater business and employer marketplace. Women-owned firms develop, manufacture, and distribute their own products and solutions. Women are becoming large and connected distributors of solutions manufactured by others pushing women’s views of quality, usability, and value fully into the supply chain.

We are securing a much more influential role. We envision women moving towards a much greater level of impact on every level of the business and employer marketplace. As women aggregate influence through purchasing with women-owned firms and stop responding to the target-marketing of The Male-Led EconomyTM

, our growing strength

will move us into leadership in all boardrooms, management and workforce positions.

As women’s influence grows, we shape the landscape in which businesses operate, bringing our values of family, balance, and community to all businesses; compelling companies to provide products and services that support our needs – thereby improving economic conditions for women, our families, our employees and our communities – shaping the world more directly towards our, “own true and substantial happiness.”

Women-Led. Progress for All.
