Stubborn barriers remain The American legal system has been a
key sword of the Women’s Movement as women have sought rights and protections for voting and fair pay, access to education and credit, and protection from violence and discrimination.
Unfortunately, legal protections (along with education, preparation, jobs and growing capabilities) have not fully lifted women to economic and influence parity with our male counterparts, and have not fully enabled us to influence our world to bring equality, family-friendly work environments, and the full pursuit of happiness for which we have worked so hard to achieve.
Earnings at Retirement $25,344 $14,429 The Women-Led EconomyTM Changes Everything
Legal Protections Achieved Limited Results Where are we today?
Still seeking, “our own true and substantial happiness.”

Education – Even though educational attainment levels were nearly equal for women and men, full-time women workers still earn 24% less than men.5

– The annual gender wage gap for full-time year- round workers is 22.9 percent.7
