INDULGENCES outrageous by jizzona straynger Hi poodles! What a blur May turned out to be, and I’m not saying it wasn’t to blame on
those vodka diets I love so much. The month started off with a lovely scenic flight over to Bermuda Dunes with Unusual Attitudes, a gay pilot’s organization. I was barely able to get all my hair into that tiny plane, but the good pilot who flew us over gave me the best spot in the plane… the captain’s chair! It was a great time meeting gay aviation enthusiasts and sharing stories over a nice fried chicken dinner. I had to upgrade my eatin’ pants when I got home—I just love me some Southern cookin’! Speaking of Southern, okay, Midwest, I made a surprise visit back to Oklahoma to see my
mama for Mother’s Day. Mama was blown away by my recent upgraded hair and hooked me up with a few new lovely outfits you’ll be seeing me in around town. My mama wasn’t the only one blown away during my trip! I swear, natural disasters follow me everywhere. Last month it was the earthquake and this month I was caught up in the nasty tornado storms that hit Oklahoma. All I’m saying is that I am not designed for winds over five miles per hour! Aqua Net had a hard time keeping up. A trip to Oklahoma is not complete without a visit to the Southwest’s largest gay resort. I took my lady bits up to Oklahoma City to see my unofficial drag mother, Norma Jean Goldenstein, at Boom. We then hit up the Copa located inside the Habana Inn for some hot go-go dancer action. If you’ve never been to Oklahoma City, the Habana Inn is the gay place to stay! You not only get a room for less than $40 a night, you also get a complimentary case of crabs as well! All kidding aside, the Habana offers the best place to stumble home from the bar, as it is actually part of the bar! After my journey home, the month got even busier! Long Beach Pride was next on my list
of adventures. I kicked off Pride with the ladies from
BabbleOnPodcast.com, Aunt Phyllis and Scooter Booter! We had a lovely brunch followed by some on-street parade action. Other than catching a beaded necklace to the eye, the event was rather festive! I did take my lady parts down to the festival where I only remember eating a roasted corn on the cob! Needless to say, we had a great time celebrating Pride with all those in attendance! The week after Pride, my sister, Lady VaJayJay and I celebrated our one-year dragaver-
ADVENTURES
JIZZONA STRAYNGER’S
sary! We spent the entire weekend celebrating with friends and family. Saturday, we both attended The Rage Monthly’s Cruise Boat Pool Party at the Custom Hotel. 15 percent of all sales from the event went to support AIDS Project Los Angeles. We partied it up with Alexis Arquette and The Rage Monthly’s Daisy Torres all afternoon. After a lovely dinner, the ladies of Rage headed out down Santa Monica Boulevard for a great time with the locals of West Hollywood. Thank the good Lord above for taxicabs honey! We wrapped up the weekend with a birthday roast hosted by Aunt Phyllis at Hamburger Mary’s, Long Beach. We had a great turnout and were roasted by Long Beach drag royalty, Jewels and Psycadella Façade. Memorial Day weekend was also a big event for me! I packed up my make-up kit and headed out to Lake Mohave for a weekend of sunning on the beach. The good folks at the Lariat Saloon were super fun and kept my whistle quite moist! Other than a nasty sunburn, the weekend was a huge success. By the way, Aunt Phyllis let me fly his plane again and we survived!! Next month look for me at Hamburger Mary’s, Long Beach, for The Ho Must Go On every
Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Also, I’ll be making a special visit down to San Diego to host a fashion show for House.Boi in Hillcrest. Be sure to come out on June 16th for OC Weekly’s Cocktail for a Cause supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Ra Sushi, Huntington Beach. I want to thank everyone who has made my first year as Jizzona Straynger a huge success! My sister Lady V and I have been able to accomplish a lot for the O.C./L.A. LGBT community by raising over $20,000 for various charities and organizations. We’ve met some amazing people and had some unforgettable adventures! Also, the winners of Where in the World is the Jizzy Doll contest are @OKMegz from Twitter and Jenni F. from Facebook. Megz spotted and Tweeted a picture of the Jizzy Doll from Oklahoma and Jenni snagged a video the Jizzy Doll from Shecky’s Girls Night Out Expo in Los Angeles! The two both won a $25 AMC Gift Card and a Jizzy bejeweled t-shirt! Keep those photos of the Jizzy Doll coming to @Jizzona on Twitter or
Jizzona@Jizzona.com! And with that, poodles, always remember that when bugs throw a party, they don’t invite the chickens! See you all at L.A. Pride!
Kisses poodles! Jizzona
