We monitor and record every vessel in our sight, recording movements and descriptions in case of an emergency. Teignmouth has gained Declared Facility Status, and works hand in hand with the Coastguard, RNLI, Harbour Commission, and local emergency services in the event of any Incidents. Having been the victims of

vandalism this year, the NCI in Teignmouth has still managed to man its tower for two watches in winter and three watches in summer for 365 days a year. The tower is open for most of the hours of day light and has about 70 active members.
Not only do our members enjoy watches, but we also have an active social life with monthly meetings at the Teignmouth Corinthian Yacht club where we have guest speakers, quiz nights, and social gatherings with
other NCI stations. Members also gather for days out at places of interest, The Royal Britannia Naval College, Brixham Coastguard, The Met Office, to name but a few. We are 100 per cent self- supported, raising funds through voluntary collections and rely on contributions from local businesses to enable us to carry out our task.
