Cub Scouts “HELP FOR HAITI” Supply Drive
Cub Scout Pack 614 would like to thank the com-
munity for helping make their “Help for Haiti” supply
drive a huge success! On Monday, January 18th,
Pack 614 held an all-day event at Kmart in Tem-
ecula, collecting more than $2,500 worth of des-
perately needed supplies, along with more than
$500 in cash donations! More than $100 in cash
was donated by the Murrieta Rotary, the Pack’s
sponsoring organization. This was a terrific turn-
out in spite of the pouring rain! The supplies will
be sent to Haiti via the organization World Care, to
help with their relief effort. The cash donations will
be sent directly to the Haitian Scout Organization.
The Scouts in Haiti were extremely helpful in the
aftermath of the 2008 hurricane there; they are cur-
rently providing aid to the population again, helping
purchase medical supplies and assisting with op-
erations of clearing, cleaning, decontamination and
also by taking care of children that have been left
to their own devices, as well as by building emer-
gency camps. The Cub Scouts are still collecting
donations for the Haiti Scouts. If you are interested
in sending a donation, please make out a check to
Pack 614 with “Haiti” in the memo line, and mail
checks to Pack 614, 43140 John Warner Road,
Temecula, CA 92592. Thank you for helping!
