the Club at the Merc at the Old Town Tem-
ecula Community Theater. The concert begins
at 3:00 p.m.
The repertoire for oboe (or its lower-
voiced cousin, the English horn) and guitar is
small. The program will include some works
written for this combination, including Napo-
leon Coste’s charming Le Montagnard. Other
works on the program include music by Rob-
ert Benedict, Mauro Guiliani, Astor Piazzolla,
Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Jacque Ibert, and
Manuel de Falla. Many of these works are ad-
aptations specifically to take advantage of the
unique sounds of these instruments.
