1st place overall in the vocal solo category many times!” Said a very excited Basurto.
“I am raising money through fundraising. My mom is helping me with but the trip will
cost tons of money (flights, lodging, food, costumes, etc.), so I am also trying to get

“Temecula should be so proud!”, said Musicians Workshop’s CEO and Founder
Jon Laskin, of 12 yr. old singer Stephanie Basurto who was selected to represent the
West Coast Country Music Association in the North America Country Music Associa-
tions International competition (http://www.myspace.com/nacmai) which will be held
at the Country Tonite Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN the week of March 8-14, 2010.
“This is just another example of the incredible talent that this area has to offer”, Laskin
continued. That enthusiasm for learning and teaching music and the arts drove Laskin
and his wife Jane to open the local non-profit organization Musicians Workshop 11
years ago, and the reasoning behind helping Basurto achieve her goals of getting to
Tennesse. A fundraiser show is set for Stephanie Sunday, 21st of February from 3-4pm
at the Temecula Valley Cultural Arts & Music Center located at 27455 Tierra Alta Way,
