hile YouTube has emerged as a marketing juggernaut for colleges and universi-

ties, many campuses are also discovering that the free video-sharing service has
scores of other uses—all of which are also free for the taking.
Higher ed recruiting, student communications, how-to videos and dissemi-
nation of university news are all increasing in popularity on YouTube, as the
medium is transformed into a Swiss Army Knife of communications.
“Within the last two years, DreamCo Design added a video studio to its of-
fices for this very reason,” says Jason Correia, DreamCo’s director of marketing. “It is becoming a more
