Tribal Drumbeats
February Community-Building
Natural Awakenings Naples Tribe
Notes from Chief dreamer & meetup
Organizer, Bill van arsdale
T
he line from the movie, Avatar, “I
see you,”strikes me as most fitting for
those of us who are joining in the many
monthly gatherings of the Naples Tribe.
Four months into this community-build-
ing effort, the core of people who show
up time and again is growing, and we are
beginning to really “see” each other. This
month is going to give us more wonderful
opportunities.
The Really Really Free Market is
scheduled from noon to 3 p.m., February
6, at Fleischmann Park, an occasion to
give away usable items and share skills
and passions. We are also joining in the
good vibrations of Love Fest 2010, at
Summerland in Bonita Springs, a three-
day encounter camp over Valentine’s
Day weekend, February 12-14 (see news
brief on page 8).
Our always-popular Intentional
Networking group meets at 6:45 p.m.,
Tuesday, February 16, at Whole Foods
Market, to support each other’s dreams
and desires. The big February festival is
Hawkfest, a gathering of more than 300
drummers and dancers from all over the
country, who will be camping at Sum-
merland, in Bonita Springs, February 18-
21. Some of us will be camping together
there while others make day trips; the
main event on Saturday night is the World
Collision concert.
Our “Someone You Should Know”
event, at 5:30 p.m., February 24, features
Florida Gulf Coast University Professor
Dr. Gerry Segal, discussing the critical
topic of “Sustainability Through Design
or Chaos.”
Many other wonderful gatherings are
also posted on our Meetup.com calendar.
Let us “see” you!
