best times to eat, go to sleep and awake, plus
foods that can build immunities to diseases.
Nison, whose years as a raw foodist have taught him how
stepping back makes it much easier to see the full picture,
says, “Practicing temperance while eating helps with most
health issues and rejuvenates the whole body. I emphasize in
my lectures that two of the keys to success are that you must
enjoy eating less and change your thinking along with your
diet if you want to be successful.”

International Cuisine with Jackie and Gideon Gaff
International cuisine will be en-
joyed when experts Gideon and
Jackie Graff, hosts of the Un-
cooked DVD series, combine
their two decades of raw food
prep experience. Recognized
for their gourmet recipes as well
as making a raw foods lifestyle
affordable and accessible, the
couple advises, “We don’t teach
Gideon & Jackie Gaff
a certain category or school of live food. We simply give people
all the information that’s available and help them make their
own choices based on what their needs are and what they feel
would be good for them.”
They will prepare a Greek meal, including salad with
mock feta, zucchini, hummus and pita, and lemon poppy seed
cake, beginning at 6:30 p.m., February 26, at the home of Lisa
and Mark Tomasi, in Naples. The two-hour presentation gives
an overview of raw food nutrition and preparation. The next
afternoon, they will present a four-hour workshop-style class
and prepare a Caribbean lunch of banana bread, sweet potato,
coconut pudding, okra and tomatoes, corn fritters and many
other natural ingredients, starting at 1 p.m. at Outside the Box
Studio, in North Naples.
