Blue is my favorite color, but this month green takes over
ADVENTURES
in order to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and our Irish folk. It’s
one of my favorite holidays because I like to “forget”
to wear green so I can get my butt pinched all day.
March is full of events and social things around town
to fill up your agenda. So, dust off your dress and get
the lint off your coat for the day.
On March 3, I’m going to be at Hawthorn’s restau-
rant for the kickoff of the San Diego Pride Ambassador
program. It’s a new program Pride has developed in
order to groom a new generation of leaders in the com-
munity. I was honored when Pride asked me to be one
of the ambassadors. It’s all about learning how to mobilize
your base and fundraise to become a community leader. If
you think you might be interested, RSVP to sponsor@sdpride.
org and be at Hawthorn’s at 6:00 p.m.
On March 10 we can all help pay RENT for the youth housing
project. Sponsored by the Broadway San Diego show RENT and
the Confidential Restaurant and Loft, this one-night special event
features show tickets and an exclusive invitation to the RENT cast
party at the Confidential Restaurant. Two packages are available
for you to help pay one month’s rent at The Center’s 23-unit Youth
Housing Project. For more info, check out www.thecentersd.
org/calendar. It’s a great way to give back to our commu-
nity and enjoy a great Broadway show at the same time, so get your
tickets right away.
I love independent films and, as a good Latina, I also enjoy Latin
films. So I want to invite everyone to the San Diego Latino Film Fes-
tival and their gay film selections called “Cine Gay.” The festival takes
place from March 12 – 22. Check out
www.sdlatinofilm.com to view
schedules and read up on the films which will be showcased and
don’t just check out the gay-themed films, check out the complete
list. I know I’m dying to see Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna in
Rudo y Cursi. From what I been told, it’s a very funny movie and it
stars the “cute as hell” Gael... so it must be good.
Oh, by the way, we have decided to extend the Rage 2009 New
You Contest to give more of you the opportunity for entering to
win. It’s a free make-over with a new hairstyle from Disconnected
Salon, a dental check-up and cleaning from Strober Dental, teeth
whitening from iSmile, clothes from House.Boi, dinner for two at Inn
at the Park, play tickets for a great show and a VIP table with bottle
service at Universal for you and four friends. If you pass up this op-
portunity, you’re crazy, for all you need to do is send a picture and a
paragraph telling us why you should be the lucky winner. To enter,
e-mail

February
Last month was incredibly fun. I had a wonderful Valentine’s
day surprise and I also celebrated my birthday with a trip to Las
Vegas. I stayed at the wonderful Blue Moon gay resort and I had a
blast. I worked on my tan all weekend at the clothing-optional
pool, so watch out for my new glowing skin. It’s just a couple blocks
off The Strip and I would recommend it to anyone planning to go
to Las Vegas.
