Lucinda Jones won a fam trip to Andorra after completing the destination’s TTG Knowledge College training course
07:30 I turn the heater up high and jump in the shower to freshen up. It’s going to be a really cold day so I throw on plenty of layers under my ski jacket.
08:00 I pack my bag with all my essentials – including my goggles, gloves and camera – before joining everyone for breakfast in our hotel, the Delfos.
08:45We collect our boots and skis from a hire shop and head up the mountain in the cable car. At the top we split into groups based on ability – I’m in the beginners’ class. My group starts by snowshoeing through the forest with some instructors.
11:45 After our trek through the snow we get a lift in a jeep to the other side of the mountain where some snowmobiles are waiting for us. We jump on and go for a ride on an unused road. The views would be great if it wasn’t for the blizzard!
13:00 What a fantastic
drive. I’m cold but I’m not letting it put me off having fun. As we climb off the snowmobiles we see a lady waiting with nine huskies and a sledge, and off we go again, but this time at a slower pace. I can’t believe that in one morning I have already been snowshoeing, snowmobiling and husky sledding.

14:00We stop off at one of the many cafes for lunch. I order a cheese- burger, chips and coke.

15:00 Time to put on my skis for the first time. I’m really nervous about falling over, but our instructor is lovely. We’re taught how to snow-plough and side-step, and after a while he suggests we go down the nursery slope.
17:00 I’m nervous again as I step on to the magic carpet (a small conveyor belt) and head up the slope. When it’s
time to go down the instructor skis backwards in front of me in case I lose control – but I make it to the bottom and am very proud of myself.
20:00 After a few hours relaxing in my room, I glam up and go downstairs, ready to head to the other side of town to sample the apres- ski atmosphere with a delicious tapas dinner in the Borda Estevet restaurant. All the Borda
restaurants in this area have been converted from old barns.
23:00 After a few hours of eating, drinking and chatting we are all exhausted, so head back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep in preparation for another day of skiing tomorrow!
