EasyJet will fly to Lyon from Bristol and Liverpool for the first time this winter. It will also offer Basel from Edinburgh.

Tui Travel has new flights from Manchester and Gatwick to Calgary, Gatwick to Plovdiv in Bulgaria and Edinburgh to Salzburg.


Neilson will operate a new charter from Manchester to Ostersund, serving the Swedish resorts of Are and Vemdalen. New flights from Bristol will serve Grenoble, Turin and Toulouse.


British Airways will operate from London City airport to Chambery from December 18 to the end of March, making weekends to the Alps a convenient short hop, as Chambery is closer to major ski areas than Geneva.


New operator Zenith Holidays includes the Slovakian resort of Jasna in its debut brochure plus intermediate areas in Austria such as Pitztal and a full range of big French resorts.


Cosmos has dipped a toe into the ski market with packages based around its Monarch charter from Gatwick to Huesca, which serves the Spanish Pyrenean resort of Formigal. Flight-only is offered through Avro from £185 including transfers.


Jet2 will fly from Edinburgh to Salzburg for the first time this winter. It will also fly Edinburgh-Geneva in February and March.


W&O Travel’s Ski Dream programme has eight new resorts, including lesser-known areas such as Hakuba near Tokyo, Northstar in Lake Tahoe and Jay Peak in Vermont.


Pierre & Vacances has added two upmarket chalets in Les Arcs and Flaine to a new Premium brand that includes 11 properties.
