BKU Awards wins backing of high profile sponsors

aunched in 2015 by Bathroom & Kitchen Update Magazine, the BKU Awards are designed to recognise the retailers, brands, people and services that make this industry great. The ceremony will take place at Shakespeare’s iconic Globe Theatre in London Thursday 23 June, hosted by Paul Sinha, star of ITV’s day time quiz show, The Chase.
Uform is delighted to be named as a sponsor of the prestigious 2016 Awards. Commenting on the decision chairman Eamon Donnelly said: “Last year’s award ceremony proved to be a hugely successful event for the company with nominations in four individual categories. We are proud to have an award winning sales professional as part of our talented and dedicated team with Mark McNulty named as the ‘Best Sales Representative of the Year’. Given the competitive nature of the kitchen industry, we were also deeply honoured to be highly commended in the overall Kitchen Brand of the Year category, a true testament to the strength of the Uform brand. Furthermore, our world class customer service offering was also recognised with two members of our Customer Services team listed as finalists in the ‘Best Customer Services Representatives of the Year’ category, Key Account Managers Lauren McCoy and Kelly McKenna.”
From its establishment in 1993, Uform has grown from a small family business once occupying 6,000sq ft premises to a market leading supplier of kitchen doors & accessories to the trade throughout UK & Ireland. Talking exclusively to BKU

magazine, Eamon said: “Our success is based on the delivery of a world class service along with a comprehensive portfolio of doors in matt and gloss, painted and stained and PVC & timber, offering retailers convenience and value for money across all price points. We have grown significantly over recent years and in 2015 completed a £3.2million investment programme to support increasing demand and enhance service. An additional 30,000sq ft of warehousing space, a new automated sanding and finishing line, a new automated packaging line and additional pressurised spray booths will increase finishing capacity and reduce painted lead times. Our award winning ‘Switched On’ Design Centre today showcases over 40 of our kitchen displays across 7,500sq ft of space and work will continue this year to make this a hub of innovation for product development.”
Despite its recent investment programme, the company is certainly not slowing down. It has further plans which will incorporate additional capacity through another warehouse to increase ex-stock offerings in current ranges, reducing our painted lead times, increasing the products Uform offer painted to order and a made to measure service for key product lines. Substantial investments in digital marketing will be made through a new trade website and a new Kitchen Stori consumer website designed to drive footfall to Kitchen Stori showrooms nationwide. An intuitive online ordering platform will also allow trade customers the flexibility to do business 24/7. “This next stage will help us continue to effectively serve the needs of our customers, who are the resource upon which the success of our business depends,” said Eamon.
