34 ANALYTICAL AND LABORATORY EQUIPMENT
New analytical and precise balances T
he Eclipse from Adam Equipment combines innovation and precision to
bring a balance of durability and performance to labs. Today’s labs perform a great deal of analytical testing on samples. As more
equipment is available, space becomes limited. The Eclipse is the solution, as its compact footprint fits into smaller areas.
An advanced capacitive touch
keypad contains illuminated colour- coded keys, providing uncomplicated navigation of the functions and features. Keys respond readily, even to latex-gloved fingers. It’s essential for weighing results to
be displayed clearly on lab balances. The Eclipse’s LCD screen features sizeable, easy-to-read white digits on a deep-blue background. Recording data electronically

saves time and allows for more accurate reporting; the Eclipse offers connectivity, whether it’s basic printing or advanced communication with a LIMS system. Printouts with time, date and other information are provided for GLP requirements. The Eclipse’s selection of weighing units provides the flexibility needed
for numerous lab applications. Users can program a custom unit for more complex unit weight calculations. Movement such as vibrations, air
currents or objects shifting on the pan can result in inconsistent readings. The Eclipse features dynamic weighing and digital filter settings to improve accuracy.

iden Isochema has announcd the launch of its new ABR Automated Breakthrough Analyser. The ABR is designed to meet the needs of
researchers wishing to characterise the gas separation performance of novel materials, such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), without the time or expense of synthesising larger quantities of material. Breakthrough curve measurement allows high-throughput screening and testing of adsorbents,
for a wide range of separation processes including CO2 capture and storage, the purification and recovery of noble gases, toxic gas removal and air separation. The ABR is a dedicated breakthrough analyser, fully
automated and supplied with an integrated close- coupled quadrupole mass spectrometer. Different configurations are available to suit research-scale samples, with bed volumes from 2 cc to 20 cc.
