Stop hating winter and start enjoying it.

To help everyone become a snowboarder, not just someone who tries it.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO TRY SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING?

Attendees had a great time at National Academy… but don’t take our word for it; take theirs!

IF THERE WAS ONE THING YOU COULD ACCOMPLISH AS AN INSTRUCTOR, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR?

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD OFFER A NEW INSTRUCTOR?

All of my friends were instructors. I tried it and hated it, but they got me past that.

Listen; be a sponge. If you have questions, ask. I guarantee someone else has asked the same question somewhere along the way.

Skiing is wonderful way to explore the mountains. You can enjoy skiing no matter your skill level, meet fun and interesting people, and be as challenged as you wish. You do need to be worried about becoming addicted though!

I’d like to be a mentor to new instructors, providing encouragement and passing on knowledge that fosters instructor retention. This is by far the most fun I’ve ever had working!

I love skiing, and I love to teach – especially kids! I thought it would be a great combo, plus I thoroughly enjoy the people who work at ski resorts.

Be kind to yourself – it takes time to learn everything about your resort and the many aspects of being a good instructor. Ask veteran instructors lots of questions; they are a fantastic resource!

It’s all about the “F” word! FUN! Learn to have FUN “playing” in the snow on skis. Enjoy and embrace the winter season!

To help all students turn fear into fun.

Once I actually took lessons and learned how to ski, it became much safer and more fun. I was hooked and began to spread the word about how much fun it was, when you took lessons and learned proper technique.

I would share my own experiences about skiing, and encourage them to get out and experience a great way to be healthy and enjoy the outdoors. Get out from in front of the televisions and X-boxes and let’s go SKIING.

Ski and clinic with many diff erent “seasoned veterans” (especially people who are better than you), gain a solid foundation of knowledge about the fundamentals of skiing (and teaching).

I would like to be more of a role model and be more instrumental in developing the skills of the new instructors coming to the school.

My love of the sport; it’s a great way to spread the word.

Keep it simple and keep them moving. I am a true believer that practice makes perfect. So let’s put some miles on our students.
