PHIL HINDLE PERSONAL TRAVEL AGENT, THE MIDCOUNTIES CO-OP TRAVEL, TAUNTON
Q&A
Midcounties Co-operative Travel personal travel agent Phil Hindle jumped at the chance to enjoy a Cover Star makeover in Boston – if only to get his wife off his back about not having had his hair styled and living in black jeans for the past 20 years
Q: Is it true you decided to apply for the Travel Weekly Cover Stars trip because your wife was fed up with your dress sense? A: I thought it would be a good idea to go on the trip – and my wife is always fed up with me wearing black jeans and not having had my hair styled for the past 20 years. She wanted to get me out of the habit of wearing black jeans all the time – but I ended up buying two pairs of black Levi’s. So now I am back to wearing them every day.
A: How easy was it to get around Boston? Q: I went to Boston about 20 years ago and it’s changed so much since then; a lot of the traffic has gone underground. We went on a walking tour, which included the Skywalk Observatory, and used the Metro. Public transport in Boston is dead easy to use – you don’t need a car. I went off on my own and just hopped on the Metro to go to Quincy Market, next to the original town hall. There were lots of food stalls and places to eat such as the Hard Rock Cafe, as well as a big visitor centre. Everything
