Brazilian states offer fam trip prize for training course
A group of states in northeast Brazil have launched a trade training programme. The Northeast Integrated Tourism Commission, or CTI Northeast, training course aims to educate 600 agents and operator staff in its first year. The Japan National Tourism Organization hopes publicity about the country’s hosting of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo will boost UK arrivals. UK visitor numbers between January and August were up 21% on the same period last year.

China and Iran tipped as destinations on the rise
China, Mexico and Iran have been tipped to be the top emerging destinations over the coming years by British holidaymakers and senior executives, according to a WTM poll of 2,050 buyers and exhibitors and 1,038 holidaymakers. Cox & Kings last month announced it would start selling holidays to Iran next year.

India hails its e-visa system as a ‘game-changer’
India tourism bosses described the country’s new electronic e-visa system as “a game- changer” in attracting British tourists. The India Ministry of Tourism plans to extend the e-visa – introduced to the UK market in August – from the 113 countries it currently covers to 150 by March next year, and to bring in multiple-entry visas.
