Caribbean Airlines to axe Trinidad flights from Gatwick
Caribbean Airlines will axe Gatwick-Trinidad flights on January 10, blaming the high cost of operating Boeing 767s on the route. Passengers due to travel after this date will be refunded or reallocated to another service.

Luton expands security area on back of record month
The security area at Luton airport has been expanded and relocated to the ground floor as part of a £100 million redevelopment. The move has been made as a record 1.2 million passengers used the airport in September – up 19.2% on the same month last year.

‘Regional airports strategy would boost economy more’
Manchester Airports Group is calling for a new strategy to promote regional airports, saying this would give the economy a bigger boost than investing in a southeast ‘mega- hub’. Passenger numbers at the group’s airports – Manchester, Stansted, Bournemouth and East Midlands – rose 10.7% last year to a record 48.5 million.
Etihad to launch Airbus A380 on Abu Dhabi-JFK route
Etihad Airways will replace one of the twice-daily Boeing 777 flights between Abu Dhabi and New York’s JFK airport with a service using an Airbus A380 on November 23.
