Monarch is right to ditch the Cosmos brand
Story: Trade ‘reassured us’ over Cosmos move, says Monarch Monarch Group is quite right to get rid of the Cosmos Holidays brand, as it was always a third-tier, last-option choice. The best thing is to start again with an achievable capacity, a single-minded focus geared to achieve this, and with a new management. Don’t be market-led and don’t discount. Get the online booking facility working and get agent-friendly – you need all the distribution channels you can get. Don’t have third-world carriers as suppliers. Good luck – you most certainly need it.

Story: Tui-owned SHG unveils trade-only brand Travelmood for third-party agents I would be a happier bunny if Tui would show even a modicum of support for us agents through their other products. How long before this “trade-only” brand goes direct once we’ve introduced it to our customers? Then they’ll start poaching them from us with direct discounts and reduce our commission? Sorry, Tui, seen it all before.
