n THAI OPENING: Keemala Phuket is set to open in October within the Kamala rainforest, with its 38 guest villas inspired by mythical Phuket clans. Each comes with a private pool and is connected by a network of jungle walkways to a shared swimming pool, three dining areas and a spa.

n CHINA CRUISE: MSC Cruises is set to make its maiden voyage to China next year as the MSC Lirica ports in Shanghai. The ship arrives on May 1 at the end of an MSC Cruises 60-day round-the-world Grand Voyage, departing Rio on March 3. Fares for the full voyage start at $4,799 per person, but passengers can embark in Genoa or Dubai.

n DELTA DEAL: Delta Airlines is investing $450m for a 3.55% stake in China Eastern Airlines in a move to access China’s rapidly growing travel market. The two carriers, including China Eastern subsidiary Shanghai Airlines, already codeshare on 43 domestic routes in China and 30 domestic routes in the US. Delta has similar equity partnerships with Virgin Atlantic, AeroMexico and GOL.
