REVIEWS WEBSITE LAUNCHES
A new members-only travel review site aimed at ‘luxury’ travellers has partnered with Elegant Resorts to provide booking services for its members.
Luxurybared.com, which launches
in November, features reviews by its in-house team of hotels, cruise lines and premium aircraft cabins on some long-haul routes.
There will be 62 hotels on the site upon launch, providing what the company describes as the ‘most comprehensive insider’s guide for the luxury traveller’. As the site’s aim is to be entirely unbiased, it does not process bookings, but points members towards Elegant Resorts.
Luxurybared.com will pay the best
available rate or contract rate for the product it reviews, unless the property is deemed “prohibitively expensive”, and therefore a deeply discounted rate is required. In these cases, readers will be made aware, to ensure transparency. Agents can be members at discounted prices and will not be obliged to book their clients through Elegant Resorts. Agent rates start at £195. The site also allows members to contact whoever wrote the review, as well as each other.
Founder Grant Holmes said: “My vision is to offer in-depth, highly professional and honest reviews for our well-travelled members and, ultimately, become the go-to website for luxury holiday information.” Reviews will also be written by members and anonymous reviewers from within the travel industry, predominantly from tour operators with at least 15 years in the business. Membership for consumers costs £995
a year, which includes a GoPro camera.

The brochure has been indexed into sections including Wildlife & Safari, Adventure and Activity, Culture and Education, Beach Resorts, and Villas and Chalets. Parents have contributed information such as the Boring Bit, offering practical advice on flying times and visas, and short destination articles in Did You Know?. Every trip has been tested and there are options for
different budgets.
