nlike other Latin American countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and parts of Central America, it is not easy to operate a waterpark in Argentina because the change in seasons does not allow a continuous operation during the year. Astrid González Nariño reports on two facilities that are holding their own, while elsewhere we look at a different kind of park that relines on water – as well as animals – to entertain its guests
To make a waterpark work in Argentina, it helps if it complements an existing amusement park, rather than operating as a standalone facility, and there has been an increase in the number of such projects in recent years.

A diferencia de otros países latinoamericanos como Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador y lugares de América Central, para Argentina no es fácil de operar un parque acuático debido a que el cambio de estaciones no permite una operación continua durante el año. Astrid González Nariño informa sobre dos instalaciones que mantienen su operación, mientras que en otro lugar observamos un tipo diferente de parque que recurre al agua - así como a los animales - para entretener a sus huéspedes.
AQUOPOLIS
En 1977 nace en Mar del Plata, Argentina, a 415 kilómetros (257 millas) de la Capital Federal, el Complejo Vacacional El Griego, que fue creciendo año tras año en estructura y servicios. A partir del año 1981 contó con una zona deportiva con piscina olímpica, solárium, plaza infantil y quinchos o zonas de parrilla.
